Ridge Carbide Super Blade – review

I received my new Ridge Carbide TS2000 Super table saw blade in the mail a few days ago and I’ve gotten to use it a few times already. This blade is a flat tooth table saw blade, designed specifically for use in table saw joinery.

This is a 40 tooth blade, precision ground to exactly 1/8″ wide. The flat tooth design leaves a clean, smooth cut, even while it is efficiently cutting across the grain of hardwoods. So far I’ve gotten to use it for a few cuts while making my table saw extension, and I’ve also used it for making the mortise and tenon cuts for some shaker style doors and drawer fronts I’ve been building. I have to say, the result is a huge upgrade over using a general purpose blade for these same cuts. I’m looking forward to using it to make a few dados and half lap joints in upcoming projects, as I can already foresee results being perfect.

This table saw blade is a bit pricey, but given you should be able to have it sharpened at least 20 times over it’s life means it is an investment that should last you a long, long time. I’d definitely recommend this blade to any woodworker who is looking to build out their blade options with more task specific options.
