Gang cut pieces for greater consistency and time savings

If you have to cut multiple pieces at the same dimensions, it saves time and helps to ensure the pieces are more consistent if you gang cut them. What is gang cutting? Gang cutting is when you cut multiple boards at the same time. You can stack two or more boards on top of each other to cut simultaneously on the miter saw, flip them together, and then cut the other end if required.

A few examples of times gang cutting comes in handy are

  • Opposite sides of a picture frame
  • Rails and stiles for cabinet doors
  • Legs for a picnic table
  • there are so many more…

Remember to always be safe when using power tools. This is even more important when trting to cut multiple boards at once. Make certain your boards are held securely and that you are aware of where the blade is cutting. Keep all body parts, and loose clothing, away from moving parts.
