Trying to cross cut a piece of plywood wider than 12″ on a table saw is always a bit of a juggling act if you’re also trying to use a miter gauge. There is never enough room on the infeed side to rest your miter gauge. I know I was always trying to hold the wood with one hand and my miter gauge with the other. Not the safest scenario. That’s where the table saw infeed table comes in.
Using the table saw infeed
My table saw infeed table was built with bit of scrap mdf, and two pieces of hardwood I pulled from the scrap bin at a local woodworking shop. I use two toggle clamps to secure it to the rail of table saw, making it quick to attach and remove. To align the miter slots when attaching, I put my miter gauge in place first and then pull it backwards off the table saw so it’s runner can be the guide for alignment.
My plans for this table saw infeed table are pretty straightforward, but there is always room for customization to git your own needs. If you build one from our plans, or have suggestions for modifications, let me know in the Comments section below or through our build sharing option.
