Yes, I am an ECU Pirate through and through. And I always take a tumbler or thermos with me everywhere I go because I really don’t like single use drink containers. So when I got myself a new 32 oz stainless steel tumbler, my wife was nice enough to add my favorite ECU logo to it.

Over the last year or so, we’ve really started to build up a small collection of stainless steel tumblers and thermoses.  I actually like to keep two on my desk at work every day, and I carry one of them to every meeting.  That way I have one for coffee and one for water, and don’t have any excuses to use single use plastic for drinks.  Even if I want to go buy an iced coffee from the coffee shop in the afternoon, I take my tumbler with me and have them fill it instead of a paper or plastic cup.

In the week or so that I’ve had this stainless steel tumbler, I’ve been making a conscious effort not to buy or use single use drink containers.  In that time alone, I’d estimate that I avoided using and throwing away almost a dozen single use containers.   Over the course of a year, that calculates out to over 500 plastic bottles and cups not going to a landfill or the recycling center.   Imagine if we could get one million people to switch to using stainless steel tumblers!
