Chair for the fire pit made from 2x6s

We love our new DIY fire pit, and these new DIY 2×6 chairs make it even better! The seat is a comfortable 18″ deep and 19″ wide, and the backrest is set at 110 degrees to allow for a lot of relaxation while watching the fire and roasting s’mores.

We followed our own 2×6 deck chair plans, using tongue and groove joinery on the back and sides. The seat boards are recessed into 3/4″ rabbets at the top of the second board of each side piece.

Make no mistake about it, these 2×6 chairs are heavy, sturdy, and built to last. We used pressure treated wood and will finish with a few coats of deck stain to help preserve them even longer. If you’re interested in a set for yourself, use our plans to build yourself a set or order them from our shop and we’d be happy to build so.e for you!
